Overview
VerbaView ("the App") is a speech-to-text transcription application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Audio Data
🔒 Privacy First: All speech-to-text transcription is performed locally on your device using the Vosk offline speech recognition engine. Audio is NOT transmitted to external servers.
- Microphone Access: Required to transcribe speech in real-time
- Local Processing: Audio processed entirely on-device
- No Audio Storage: We do not record, store, or transmit raw audio data
Voice Prints
- Voice prints (speaker identification data) are stored locally on your device only
- Voice prints are mathematical representations, not audio recordings
- You can delete voice prints at any time through the App settings
Transcripts
- Transcripts are stored locally on your device
- You control all transcript data and can delete it at any time
Cloud Services (Optional)
When you use the AI Summarization feature:
- Transcript text (not audio) may be sent to Google's Gemini API for summarization
- This requires authentication via Google Sign-In
- Summary requests are processed according to Google's Privacy Policy
Account Information
If you sign in with Google:
- We receive your Google account email and display name
- This is used solely for authentication and subscription management
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or other Google data
How We Use Your Information
- Transcription: To convert your speech to text locally on your device
- Speaker Identification: To identify and label speakers in transcripts
- Summarization: To generate AI summaries (optional, requires subscription)
- Subscription Management: To track usage and enforce tier limits

Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal data
- Share audio recordings (we don't have them)
- Share transcripts with third parties
- Use your data for advertising
We DO share data with:
- Google (Gemini API): Transcript text only, when you use summarization
- Google Play: For subscription and payment processing
- Firebase: For authentication and usage tracking (if signed in)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored on your device
- Delete: Remove all local data through the App
- Opt-out: Use the App without signing in (offline transcription only)
- Revoke: Revoke microphone permission at any time in device settings
Children's Privacy
VerbaView is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
- All speech processing occurs on-device
- Cloud communications use HTTPS encryption
- Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
